The White House favors the relationship with Mauricio Macri but does not rule out working with Cristina Kirchner if she is elected president

And this is the decision of the Argentine people, not us. Obviously, for us, we support a path, an institutional path, human rights, democracy, free markets … Such a path is the right path for the region.

-During the Mexican crisis, President Clinton approved an extraordinary rescue. And this line of credit is still in effect at the Treasury Department. Does the White House badess the use of this line of credit if the country risk complicates Mauricio Macri's electoral performance?

-I do not really know the answer to your question. I would only say that the support is very strong. Obviously, this is a real commitment to the government and the path it takes economically.

Venezuela is a priority for Trump

But Breier did not just mention the US administration's unwavering support for the Cambiemos government. During her meeting with Argentine journalists, the undersecretary of state also discussed the situation in Venezuela and the White House's strategy to end the populist regime led by Nicolás Maduro. Breier has ratified the diplomatic line, without excluding the possibility of using the military way to overthrow Maduro.

"We are working on a peaceful solution, but you always keep all the options on the table"said Assistant Secretary Breier when she was consulted on a possible US invasion to begin the democratic transition without Maduro at the Miraflores Palace.

– There are already fifty-four countries in the world that recognize acting President Juan Guaidó. And we punished more than 150 people in the United States and canceled more than seven hundred visas for people with ties to the regime. I would say that the pressure is working, because what we have seen in recent weeks is a weak diet. I would say that sanctions work in this regional crisis.

– The detention of President Guaidó would allow the military way?

-I think about things that did not happen …

-But they do not exclude it … The regime has already arrested the vice president of the National Assembly … And that means that Guaidó is not safe …

-I can not give an answer on this subject. It's a decision of the President of the United States and we are now focusing on what we have as diplomatic tools. We want a peaceful resolution of the crisis.
