Some 1,200 Web pages suffered an attack that revealed user information.

More than 1,200 websites worldwide have been affected by a cyberattack against the Picreel marketing tool, which exposed personal information of users who fled to the external servers in Panama.

According to cybersecurity expert Willem de Groot, of the Sanguine Security company, the Web marketing tool Picreel suffered this Saturday a cyberattack of the supply chain, through which other services are attacked through their external "software" providers.

In the list concerned, there is more than 1200 web pages from all over the world who use Picreel's services, among which is the homepage of the site's Post Office in Spain and magazine sites Forbes and Discover, among others.

As a result of the cyber attack on Picreel, the websites concerned have since exposed information about their users, including: pbadwords and payment information, which leaks to an external server located in Panama.

Similarly, the same type of malware used by cybercriminals has also been used to another attack on the supply chain using Cloud CMS, a content management service present in more than 3,400 web pages from everyone.

De Groot, who published on GitHub a version of the malware used by decoded cybercriminals, said Monday that Picreel and Cloud CMS had already eliminated the malware present in their Web tools.
