Japan starts testing a new high-speed train, the Alfa-X: it will roll at 400 km / h

Shinkansen, better known as the high-speed train, is synonymous with speed. But the
55 years of service are starting to be noticed, and that is why Japan is already testing its successor, now known as Alfa-X, with a connection between the Aomori towns and Sendai.

Alfa-X will enter service in 2030. Logically, its main feature is speed: it can reach 400 km / h, although its average speed with pbadengers should be 360 ​​km / h. The maximum speed of the current Shinkansen is 320 km / h, although another Japanese railway, in its version that flies over the tracks
Thanks to magnetic levitation, it reached 603 km / h in 2015.

The train uses magnetic brakes in addition to conventional brakes to reduce speed, as well as air brakes (such as fins) on the roof. The nose of the new Shinkansen is about 22 meters long and is designed to reduce the noise generated by the train on the road and in a tunnel. It has ten wagons and will be manufactured by Hitachi and Kawasaki.
