A magnitude 7.7 earthquake was recorded Tuesday in Papua New Guinea, with an epicenter located 28 km from the city of Kokopo, according to the US Geological Survey. (USGS, for its acronym in English)
The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers and, for the moment, no case of casualties or material damage has been reported.
To date, tsunami warnings have been reported in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
