The regime cuts public spending and gives priority to money in the central bank

The regime of dictator Daniel Ortega was forced to cease spending on public investment and current spending in the first quarter of this year, revealed data reflected in the report on the implementation of the budget released by the Ministry Finance and Public Credit. These cuts in public spending allowed the regime to release a surplus of money that it sent to the Central Bank of Nicaragua (NCB) to strengthen its international reserves. Read more here.

MPs violate procedure to choose bank manager

The appointment of Luis Ángel Montenegro as superintendent of banks and other financial institutions (Siboif) was exercised in violation of the procedures established in the Organic Law of the Legislature and in the Constitution, which provides in its article 140 that, when the position of Superintendent is vacant, the Members must so that the legislators and the president present their proposals separately from the candidates. CSE allows more offices to renew their cedulas
