The man, aged 40, was sentenced to two years in prison.
United States. The scandal erupted a few months ago in Nebraska (United States), but on Thursday there was a resolution in Justice. Travis Fieldgrove, a 40-year-old man, was sentenced to two years in prison for an incestuous relationship with his 21-year-old daughter, in a twisted story that was crowned with marriage in October.
It all started almost four years ago when Fieldgrove met Samantha Kershner. At the age of 17, the young woman asked her mother to give her the opportunity to know who her father was and, at the insistence of the woman, she finally had access to it. At first, the relationship was "normal", but little by little, it mutated and became dark. For September of last year, they had their first badual intercourse, according to what is reported in the police report. Neither of them wanted to admit how her father-daughter relationship had reached this point.
It was then that Kershner's mother informed the police of this incestuous link. This happened in September 2018 and after the complaint, the authorities began to investigate the man and his daughter. Aware of this, Fieldgrove and the young woman rushed into the marriage process and, in October, gave their yes to the Adams County Court.
Fieldgrove was not registered as Kershner's father on his birth certificate. When questioned by the police, the man stated that he did not believe that the 21-year-old was his daughter because his name was not on the certificate.
However, a paternity test conducted in January indicated that there was a 99.9% chance that he would be his father.
Your lawyer says you have a brain injury
After so much controversy in Hall County, this 40-year-old man was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison. his lawyer, Jeff Loeffler, told the court that his client was "very embarrbaded" by what had happened and that he wished it never happened. He also stated that Fieldgrove had suffered a brain injury and that he was not a "very smart boy". Despite this, Judge Mark Young condemned him and defined him as "a person who has never contributed to society". "His decision will have a lasting impact on his victim," he added. Once his sentence is over, Fieldgrove will spend another year under surveillance. During this time, you will not be allowed to communicate with your daughter. For his part, Kershner will face the sentencing hearing in June. The Lincoln Journal star reported that Fieldgrove still faces a charge of incest in Adams County, where he married his daughter.
