Two Sicilian airports near explosive eruptions on the volcano Etna – Telam

Two airports were closed on the island of Sicily, bringing back Etna, characterized by intense Strombolian activity in its craters at the top, with "lava fountains", roars and splashes, according to the local authorities.

The Crisis Unit will meet again to make a decision regarding operations in both terminals, announced the Italian Ansa Agency.

The volcanic system is perceived as "loaded" in energy, as evidenced by the high level of tremor in the internal magmatic ducts recorded by the Etneo Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Catania.
