The shortest intelligence test in the world and only few manage to overcome

We all love to boast of our skills, knowledge and intelligence. And nothing better than trying quickly, with only three questions and on a website. However, it is a test that few succeed.

Professor Shane Frederick of MIT, Mbadachusetts Institute of Technology, developed this intelligence test that is considered the shortest in the world.

More than 3,000 people from different fields and levels of education participated in their study. Some were students from prestigious universities, such as Harvard or Princeton.

Despite the references, Only 17% of participants achieved the ideal score: 3 out of 3.

These are the three test questions, based on mathematical operations that test cognitive skills.

1. A bat and a ball cost $ 1.10 in total. The bat costs 1 dollar more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?

2. If 5 machines take 5 minutes to make 5 devices, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100?

3. On a lake, there is a segment of lily sheets. Every day, the segment doubles its size. If the segment takes 48 days to cover the entire lake, how long will it take for the segment to cover half of the lake?

If you answered the three questions with 10 cents, 100 minutes and 24 days respectively, congratulations: they are part of the majority of participants who gave the wrong answers.

The researchers found significant differences between responses by bad. They found that in the case of women, the scores were related to temporal preferences. In the case of men, they were related to risk preferences.

"In general terms, being smart makes women patient and requires men to take more risks," said the study's author on the basis of this badysis.

The right answers? 5 cents, 5 minutes and 47 days.
