Many people in Mendoza consume the "Pindonga" brands because of the price difference that exists between the same products and the same trade names. Some of them claim that these are of inferior quality, but that is not the case.

All second brand products are not of inferior quality. These do not vary in their nutritional composition compared to the more known ones since, as Vanesa Pittón explains, "the products must respect the legal parameters of quality that guarantee safety".

In this sense, the Argentine Food Code contains a provision that "obliges food processors to respect the minimum conditions of hygiene, hygiene and bromatology", explains the professional. Thus, the brands "pindonga" and "cuchuflito" are as good as those with the highest advertising and packaging budget.

Changes can occur in dairy products such as yogurt, where probiotics are added to the basic requirements, to which the brand seeks to differentiate itself.

Brands are also distinguished from others in terms of organoleptic characteristics. These are the physical descriptions perceived by the senses: taste, textures or colors, for example. In this sense, companies can use a higher quality aroma than another. But this is not always the case and it is not a point that changes the properties of the product.

What differentiates a brand from another is none other than marketing. Market strategies that seek to maintain the reputation of a product, says Pitton.

This is why experts believe that in the face of a reduction in the budget devoted to food purchases, Do not dispose of this product from your diet permanently and for fear that the second brand is "of lower quality". On the contrary, they consume another of lesser value.

The diversity of brands and prices should not be confused with another phenomenon: foods with a "similar denomination", but which are not identical. This is what happens with the "milk-based" products that are on display in the shops next to milk powder.
