An explosive device injured eight policemen during their explosion today in a police station in Santiago de Chile, reported Radio Cooperativa.
The alleged badault would have occurred at the 54th Huechuraba Police Station, located on Recoleta Avenue at 5,500 hours, in the capital of Chile.
According to initial investigations, a woman allegedly left the police station with a package containing the device that then exploded.
General Carabineros, Jorge Avila, confirmed that the commissioner of the police unit was among the five wounded in uniform, who allegedly received a blow to the head as a result of the blast.
The five injured leaders are Major Manuel Guzmán, Sergeant First Erika Bravo, Corporal José Aguayo, Corporal José González Parra and Corporal Estefanía Contreras Parra.
At least three injured leaders have arrived at the institutional hospital for treatment and their status is unknown at the moment, but, according to statements by Mayor Karla Rubilar, they are not at risk.
At the scene of the event, special police operations group staff composed of riflemen is responsible for carrying out the reports of the respective experts, reported Una, according to media reports in Santiago.
