They find dead the Peruvian narco who disguised himself as a girl to escape from prison

The leader of a Brazilian drug gang who was trying to escape prison dressed when his daughter was found dead in her cell.

Prison authorities in Rio de Janeiro reported Tuesday that Clauvino da Silva had apparently been hanged with a sheet. They said they opened an investigation.

Da Silva was discovered this weekend while he was trying to get out of a West Rio prison disguised with a female silicone mask, a long wig, a pink t-shirt and skinny jeans.

According to the authorities, da Silva was part of the dome of Commando Vermelho, one of the most powerful criminal groups in Brazil, which controls much of the drug trade in Rio. The drug dealer tried to pretend to be his 19-year-old daughter, who visited him that day.

The authorities claim that the gang member managed to reach the prison's exit doors, but that his nervousness caught the attention of the guards, who eventually thwarted the escape attempt.
