They found a bomb of the Second World War at the Kremlin

A bomb from the era of the Second World War was discovered during work at the Kremlin, the Russian presidential palace in Moscow. The explosive device has been disabledCommander Serguei Jlebnikov reported on Thursday.

"During some works, an aerial bomb was discovered, apparently at the time of the Great Patriotic War (as the contestants call it). We know that between 1941 and 1942, the Kremlin was bombed"Zhlebnikov – the military commander of the Kremlin – told the press, quoted by the agency Interfax.

According to the commander, the bomb was covered with a large layer of earth. The specialists have done all the necessary operations to ensure their insurance is disabled.

"Everything is calm, at this moment, the object has already been removed, evacuated from the territory of the Moscow Kremlin and it will be destroyed," he added.

Klebnikov noted that the work was carried out in the part of the Kremlin closest to the Moskva River, called Táinitsk Garden.

The Battle of Moscow took place between October 1941 and January 1942 and thwarted Adolf Hitler's German strategy to take the capital of the Soviet Union.
