An alligator attacked and devoured a 10-year-old boy in front of his two brothers in Balbac, Philippines.

The attack, which occurred during the week, occurred when the crocodile attacked the boy and pulled him from the boat where he was traveling. The boy's father could not save his son, but a fisherman discovered the remains of the child in a mangrove a few hours later.

"They have been recording cases continuously in the city of Balabac since 2005," said Jovic Pabello, spokesman for the government council for environmental protection.

In February of this year, a crocodile attacked a 12-year-old boy who had swam in a river in Balabac, but had managed to free himself from the animal when his brothers had hit the reptile's head with oars up to # 39, upon his release. A crocodile devoured a fisherman three months after his 12-year-old niece was also swallowed by a crocodile in 2017.
