After long weeks of silence, the International Monetary Fund has reappeared today with a statement to the Argentine stating that it closely follows the evolution of the economic crisis in the country and that it will send "soon" officials.

The position of the multilateral credit agency, with which Argentina designed the current economic plan drawn up by Mauricio Macri's management, was known by a brief statement from Gerry Rice, official spokesman.

"We are closely following recent developments in Argentina and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with the authorities while working on their political plans to address the country's difficult situation," Rice said.

And in the message known by the Fund's official account on the social network Twitter, Rice said that "a technical team of the IMF will soon visit Buenos Aires."

Initially, Argentina's head of mission, the Italian Roberto Cardarelli, was due to arrive in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, August 20, but the IMF finally decided to postpone the visit until later.
