For next year, the Pontiff also convened a global youth meeting on the economy to be held in March in the Italian city of Assisi, birthplace of San Francisco.

Representatives of major religions, representatives of international organizations and humanitarian institutions, thinkers, economists, educators, sociologists and politicians, among others, who will sign the Global Compact 39 education, "said the Vatican in a statement.

Francisco said the meeting will be open to those working "in the field of education at different levels of discipline and research", as well as to young people and "public figures" who "care about the future of new generations ".
