A couple from the Pittsburgh area discovered where all their nuts were gone.

It turns out that squirrels have stored over 200 under the hood of the family van.

Chris Persic told KDKA-TV that his wife had called to tell him that the vehicle had a burning smell. When he opened the hood, he found nuts and grass piled on the engine.

They took the car to the mechanic, who found enough nuts under the engine to fill half of a trash bin. Persic says that there was no serious damage.

But some squirrels may have bitten or disconnected the vehicle's fuel injection hose.

The Persic have already consulted budgets to remove a walnut from their property.
