The police went to the farm and, while examining the scene, discovered a hidden staircase behind a pantry in the living room that led to the basement where the family was. Ruinerwold has a population of 3000 people and the farm, located on the outskirts, is accessible by a bridge that crosses a canal. It is partially hidden behind a row of trees, has a large field and a goat. A neighbor said that on the farm he had only seen one man and that there were also animals like a goose and a dog.
