US strengthens anti-trust investigation against Facebook

New York Attorney General Letitia James reported that the Facebook antitrust investigation, initiated by his state, now has the support of 47 Attorneys General of both parties.

Demand is focused on the fact that the social network, through its dominant position, stifles competition, limits consumer choice and costs advertisers more. New York and some states opened the investigation last week.

The social network and other giant technology companies are being investigated by federal regulators. The US Federal Trade Commission recently fined Facebook $ 5,000 for violating confidentiality rules.
