On Friday, a helicopter carrying a heart for transplantation crashed on the roof of Keck Hospital in California, United States.

As reported by RT, the vehicle was about to land at the hospital helipad when, for reasons under investigation, the pilot lost control of the ship and collided with the roof of the building.

Images of the crash have gone viral on social media. Los Angeles firefighters said the ship “does not appear to be leaking fuel” and is still working to determine the reasons for the incident.

There were three people on board the helicopter who were able to leave the crashed plane on their own. Only the pilot suffered minor injuries.

In a video filmed after the accident, a member of the medical staff stumbles and drops a container, apparently where the organ to be transplanted was transported.

His companions helped him up and retrieved the container.

The heart was not damaged and two hours after the shock the patient received the transplant successfully.
