MMA veteran slaughtered his girlfriend because he confessed she was a prostitute | the Chronicle

Andrew Wadsworth, a former British professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, was convicted of murdering his ex-partner, Melissa Belshaw, perpetrated in May this year, the newspaper reported Manchester Evening News.

Wadsworth, 37, confessed repeatedly stabbing Belshaw (32), in a residence in the English town of Wigan, after She confessed that she was a prostitute and that she had had sex with two of her relatives.

In court, the man said he lost control after feeling “humiliated and betrayed”. His defense argued that the woman had been “well win” with her escort job, but “alleged poverty” and even done her client supported her financially when, months before the events, she was in prison.

Prosecutors in the case described the couple’s relationship as “volatile” and focused on “drinking, drugs and sex”. Likewise, they urged the court not to take into account questions regarding the victim’s sexual life, claiming that these were arguments with which the defendant had judged “deflect the blame” and minimize the “cold and cruel murder”, when i had a “deep resentment” towards his former partner.

Belshaw died of multiple stab wounds to the heart, neck and chest, in what prosecutors described as an attack “ruthless”.

Although Wadsworth’s defense further alleged that the woman had participated with him in planning a robbery, jurors rejected all of these arguments and convicted him of murder.

Wadsworth was also convicted of a count other than attempted murder, This one against another person whom he stabbed in the street on the day of the crime. On the other hand, he was acquitted of charges relating to a death threat against Belshaw’s daughter, 13, who claimed that the accused put a knife to his throat amid the altercation that led on the death of his mother.
