He shot and killed his mother and danced over his corpse with his sister | the Chronicle

A man from the state of Utah, United States, was accused of aggravated homicide, for allegedly killing his mother and then dancing with his little sister next to the corpse of the parent.

According to local media, the suspect, identified as Mike López, 23, killed his mother, Victoria ramirez, 43 years. The incident happened on December 23 at the house where they lived, located in the town of Springville.

As the family got ready for dinner, the young man entered the dining room armed with a shotgun, where his mother and two sisters, aged 14 and 17, were. Then he looked at the younger of them, who nodded and ran to hide in a bathroom, while the older one hid behind a door and witnessed the scene.

“I know you are going to kill me and I love you”, were the woman’s last words before her son pulled the trigger. The gunshot hit the victim in the neck and killed him instantly.

Judicial reports indicate that The 14-year-old girl walked over to her mother’s body and stroked her hair, until López took her by the arm and together they started dancing.

The 17-year-old sister managed to escape through a window and contacted a relative who notified the police. When officers arrived at the home, they found López apparently unconscious, but when they took him to the hospital, they realized he was pretending.

The young man was arrested and the tests which were carried out revealed the presence of THC in his body, the main psychoactive compound in marijuana. It is not yet known whether he suffers from mental problems.

When they told him they accused him of killing his mother, López “nodded affirmatively and began to cry”said the affidavit. “Someone told me to do it”he told the officers.

While, the youngest of the brothers assured during his interrogation that the murdered woman was not his mother and she only smiled when asked why she had danced with her brother.

López has been charged with homicide, domestic violence in the presence of minors, and unauthorized use of weapons, among other crimes, and remains in custody in the Utah County Jail. And investigators believe the suspect purchased the shotgun and pistol a day before the incident.
