According to the prosecution, Riley june williams, a resident of Pennsylvania, was among the mob that stormed the Capitol building. Based on various photos and videos of the chaotic riots, an FBI agent claimed the woman was seen near Pelosi’s office. Federal authorities arrested the woman on Monday evening, according to the Washington Post.
A witness interviewed by US authorities, identified in the court document only as W1, claimed to have seen other videos in which Riley Williams took a computer (or hard drive) from Pelosi’s office.
This same witness, who claimed to be the woman’s “sentimental ex-partner”, alleged that she was planning to send the laptop to a friend in Russia to sell to the foreign intelligence agency SVR.
This sale “failed for unknown reasons, and Williams still has the computing device or destroyed it,” the affidavit states.
The indictment, filed Sunday evening in United States District Court in Washington, so far accuses Riley Williams of “violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.” but not for theft.
The Washington federal prosecutor’s office declined to immediately provide further details.
