The number of vaccinated already exceeds that of confirmed cases in the world – Telam

The global coronavirus vaccination campaign has taken an important step forward by exceeding the number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, according to a series of analyzes based on projections from the various affected countries.

Johns Hopkins University estimates 104.5 million people have tested positive in the 192 countries and territories that confirmed infections as of Thursday.

The United States, with 26.5 million cases, is the most affected country in gross terms, ahead of India, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Russia.

On the other hand, the Our World in Data portal, prepared by the University of Oxford, slipped on Thursday that more than 107 million people have already received a certain dose of the multiple vaccines developed.

Here too, the United States is in first place with 33.8 million, ahead of China (24 million) and the United Kingdom (10.5 million).

However, in proportional terms Israel is the most advanced country in its population vaccination campaign, having vaccinated 60% of its citizens, the Europa Press news agency reported.

It is followed by the United Arab Emirates, which is around 36% and the United Kingdom, which is above 15%, while Spain is close to 4%. In Latin America, the highest percentage corresponds to Brazil, with 1.19%.
