Boris Johnson announced that England will lift all restrictions on June 21

The UK government on Monday presented a four-step plan to ease coronavirus restrictions, and expressed the hope that life can return to normal at the end of June.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced in the House of Commons his roadmap to reopen the company in a “Cautious but irreversible”, which will progress as long as the vaccination campaign continues at its current rate and no new variations appear to alter plans.

For indoor sporting events, it will be possible to reach up to half the capacity of the complex, without exceeding 1,000 people. The measure would come in time for the last day of the Premier League and the tennis tournament of Wimbledon, which opens on June 28.

Finally, all social distancing restrictions will be lifted from June 21, all subject to change and based on scientific data.

“We can take these steps thanks to the determination of the British public and the extraordinary success of our NHS (National Health Service) by vaccinating over 17.5 million people across the UK, ”the Prime Minister said.

With almost 130,000 dead, Britain suffered fifth highest official death toll in the world for the pandemic and its the economy experienced its steepest decline in over 300 years.
