The UK government on Monday presented a four-step plan to ease coronavirus restrictions, and expressed the hope that life can return to normal at the end of June.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced in the House of Commons his roadmap to reopen the company in a “Cautious but irreversible”, which will progress as long as the vaccination campaign continues at its current rate and no new variations appear to alter plans.

“The threat remains important”Johnson told Parliament.

Johnson, under pressure to allow millions of people locked in their homes more freedom and offer hope to closed businesses, said the first step would give priority to schools returning on March 8 while only minimal outdoor socialization would be allowed.

The progressive plan will continue with the the reopening of non-essential retail stores, pubs and restaurants abroad and museums currently closed due to the pandemic from April 12.

A few fans could attend sports matches from May 17th with a return of spectators up to a quarter of the stadium capacity, but never more than 10,000 people. For indoor sporting events, it will be possible to reach up to half the capacity of the complex, without exceeding 1,000 people. The measure would come in time for the last day of the Premier League and the tennis tournament of Wimbledon, which opens on June 28.

Finally, all social distancing restrictions will be lifted from June 21, all subject to change and based on scientific data.

“We can take these steps thanks to the determination of the British public and the extraordinary success of our NHS (National Health Service) by vaccinating over 17.5 million people across the UK, ”the Prime Minister said.

With almost 130,000 dead, Britain suffered fifth highest official death toll in the world for the pandemic and its the economy experienced its steepest decline in over 300 years.

But Johnson said that rapid start of vaccine implementation What’s more, a sharp drop in infections could lead to a cautious relaxation of England’s harsh national lockout, which began on January 5.

As the plan unfolds, lawmakers will be able to vote on specific steps. The authorities of Scotland, Gale e North Ireland, who are responsible for their own public health, will also ease restrictions in the coming months.
