By a declaration, the The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation has announced that Félix García Chabur, son of famous Ibaguereño builder Félix García Motta, has been sentenced to 3 years and 3 months in prison for violating personal data during registration, without consent , 14 women and a minor having sexual relations with him.

However, according to local newspaper El Nuevo Día, the 35-year-old was granted a conditional stay of execution of his sentence in exchange for accepting his guilt and compensating the victims of the recordings. That is to say, the man would be released by decision of the 8th Criminal Circuit Court due to a prior agreement with the prosecution.

According to Tolima Alert, no prosecution has been initiated against the man, so lawyers alleged that the deadlines for obtaining the benefits he enjoys today have expired. Despite the advantage, the offender is still linked to a process for committing the same crime with a minor under the age of 18.

The complaints transcended in February 2019, when videos started appearing on the social media of people who were in Ibagué. According to The New Day, the man allegedly posted the videos, along with photos of the women, on US porn sites for marketing purposes. According to the Cambio portal, content could be viewed and downloaded freely on the pages.

According to local media reports, the man won over women with promises of employment and used his economic status to convince them to have sex. Later he took them to the builder García Motta and in the TV room he installed a GoPro-branded HD camera to record the women without their consent.

One of the victims became aware of her presence on the Internet thanks to a notice from one of her friends. He later reviewed and realized that this was the meeting he had had with García Chabur. The complaint against her and 14 other women deployed the investigative work of the Computer Crime Group CTI in Ibagué.

Upon learning of the complaints, the prosecutor’s office learned of the existence of an immigration report from García Chabur confirming that the young man had left for the United States. Considering itself a fugitive from justice, Interpol has issued a blue circular to notify internationally its criminal behavior in Colombia. Nine months later, his lawyer accepted his surrender and on November 5, 2019, he was captured at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá, coming from Argentina.

According to local media, the defense of several of the women was led by notorious criminals such as Alfonso Arenas Noreña and Jaime Lombana, current lawyer for former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. According to El Tiempo, among the man’s requests was that women wear gas masks or hold guns while having sex with him. In addition, the Women’s Defense has alleged that there are videos dating from 10 years ago.

According to Extra Pasto, women were Garcia’s casual friends, girlfriends and lovers whom he had known for a long time. Despite the fact that with some he had long associations, the young man took advantage of the trust. “During the video, he placed different photos of us, which he uploaded from our social networks, it was very easy to identify us, and even more knowing that it is a very small town. After that it was all a storm ”, one of the victims explained, according to media reports.

In addition, one of them claims to have had problems in her work, school and social life due to the damage suffered by the man. “I was fired from my job, they tried to take my children and I couldn’t finish my studies because they booed me.

In a conversation with W Radio, one of them claimed not to have been bought for sexual purposes. “Exposing the image in this way causes impressive damage. We are not prepaid and do not sleep with him for money. Everyone lives their sexuality, but that’s no reason to violate their privacy ”, who added that he never thought an acquaintance from 10 years ago could do him so much damage.

Also, the way he approached women was similar in all cases. “He approached us all the same way, he had a sort of scenario where he was posing as an intellectual. He invited some of them to dinner two or three times, but with others he had a romantic relationship that could last up to 5 months ”, explained an assigned to El Tiempo. On the same medium, one of the women involved claimed that the man had offered to take pictures, but this happened long after he started recording them.
