For the crime, Viñas was sentenced to 42 years in prison and spent 10 years in the Barranquilla Forest Penitentiary. Now, the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation has appealed against the imprisonment decision pronounced by the fourth court of execution of sentences of Barranquilla, under the responsibility of the deputy judge Luis Coronel Molina and supported by the judge Fernando Daza. According to the prosecution, although treatment teams for Viñas in prison do not exist, it has never been determined whether the procedures can be carried out at home.
