The UK has already vaccinated 20 million of its people

British Minister for Health Matt Hancock announced on Sunday that the UK has already inoculated more than 20 million people with at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

“Good news: 20 million people have received the COVID vaccine. It is absolutely fantastic. Thanks to everyone involved“wrote the British Minister for Health on his Twitter.

In another tweet, Hancock clarified that the exact number of vaccinated to date is 20,089,551 and he stressed that it was a great progress produced from the entire Nation effort which he described as “a magnificent achievement and a fantastic collective effort“.

The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, bet this mass vaccination process is the remedy to get out of the third national confinement which applied in early January and this will start to increase from March 8 with the reopening of schools.

For its part, UK vaccination campaign will continue based on age criteria despite the demand from certain trade union sectors to give priority to people in the most exposed professions, such as the police and teachers.

Regarding the epidemiological status of the country, In the last 24 hours, 6,035 Covid-19 infections and 144 deaths have been recorded, according to Sputnik agency. These figures show a slight drop from those reported yesterday, which were 7,434 positive cases and 290 deaths.
