The 69-year-old has given birth and has become world news in the past few hours.

A 69-year-old woman has given birth to twins and the news has hit the world in recent hours.

The Supreme Court of Spain upheld an April 22, 2020 conviction of deporting minors, handed down by the Burgos Provincial Court, which determined that the twins were not being treated in “ optimal conditions ”.

The court ruled that the twins were “in a clearly vulnerable situation” due to their mother’s inability to care for them properly or to cooperate with social services.

The decision was based on “expert assessments”, not on the woman’s age or mental health, the court said, without giving details.

A report published by the Burgos Provincial Court at the time of her initial conviction, quoted: “the personality traits of the mother considerably affected the emotional and psychosocial development of the minors”.

He added that “non-existent” family relationships, isolation and the lack of a supportive social network were also of concern. The twins, now four, were placed in foster homes shortly after their birth in 2017.

She challenged the decision, but her appeal was dismissed by the local family court, in a decision now upheld by the Supreme Court.

“I decided to be a mother because the experience of having Blanca, my first daughter, was fantastic,” Ibáñez told El País from the hospital after giving birth to the twins in February 2017.

“I wondered if I could really get another one. I don’t care about my age at all. I am older but I was able to get pregnant: science and medicine are the last chance we have for the elderly.

The surprising story of the “almost” identical twins

“Of course, I’m afraid they’ll take my children. They are so helpless, so small and delicate. I am a little afraid for them. I only ask God to keep them from falling into the hands of social services, ”he told the newspaper.
