This is the life of ‘Natacha’, the dog who went viral for riding a motorcycle in Envigado, Antioquia

At the end of February 2021, a video in which a citizen is seen riding a motorbike with his pet on Avenida Regional Sur in Envigado, Antioquia, became trending.

The man playing in the scene has been identified as Sebastian mejia and it is he who takes care of ‘Natacha ‘, the Pitbull dog which appears in the recording made from a car by a citizen who recorded the maneuver from his mobile phone.

With protective items such as goggles and a jacket, The animal appears in the footage holding the handlebars of a low-cylinder motorcycle with its two front legs.

Considering that video has become a trend within hours, the case was reported to the Envigado Mobility secretariat, since they considered it to be a driving irresponsibility of the driver, who is also seen smoking while the dog holds the handlebars.

From the traffic authorities of Envigado, they indicated that they were after the search for Sebastián to impose an exemplary individual sanction for maneuver in a dangerous manner and endanger the life of other actors on the road, as well as that of the dog.

However, in his defense, Sebastián Mejía, owner of the motorcycle and guardian of “ Natacha ”, Said the bitch is well trained for this kind of maneuver. According to him, seven years ago, when the bitch was only four months old, she started riding motorcycles.

According to information released by RCN radio, the 29-year-old lives in Sabaneta, Antioquia, and was traveling to Medellín with “Natacha” to visit while the video was being recorded. About his responsibility behind the wheel with the mascot, it said on the radio:

I go out with the dog normally and they haven’t told me. I consulted and they told me that if an agent does not see the dog let go of the motorcycle like in the video I have no problem

Mejía consulted lawyers and traffic officers, who told him that video that has become trending is not a test to be sanctioned, but could be fined if caught in the act.

And although Sebastian has not been told of any fines so far, he has announced that his pet’s Instagram account has grown from 60 followers to 5,890 after his video was posted.

The fact has divided opinions among internet users, with some believing the case could be interpreted as animal abuse. However, one of @natacha_stundt’s Instagram followers indicated that it was actually about love for the animal, as much worse things have been seen with pet owners:
