“Hold on!”: The shocking moment a man was hanged from a hot air balloon in Teotihuacan

In the archaeological area of ​​Teotihuacan, a man who performed a hot air balloon flight was about to fall out of the basket. This is shown by a video circulating on social networks and which has already gone viral.

Network users comment that the balloon was already around 20 meters high and was gradually sinking. Immediately, a group of people placed a tarp to receive the man who continued in the air.

Social media users point out that this event happened at a property near the restaurant “My beautiful Mexico”, in front of the entrance to gate 2 of the archaeological zone and that the service belongs to the company Teotiballoons.

On social media, Internet users reported that the said company offers this attraction at low cost and allegedly without having the corresponding permits nor the necessary protective measures for its customers. Likewise, they denounced that their services are a “fraud“.

“It’s a fraud, they only breed it for pure photography. The truth saves your $ 2,000 for a real hot-air balloon trip ”, they accuse.

Since opening to the public in 1910, Teotihuacan has been one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico, according to the INAH. In order to contemplate “The City of the Gods”, different experiences are offered: walks with guides, bike rides and hot air balloon rides.

To fly over the archaeological area of ​​Teotihuacán in a hot air balloon, there are different companies that offer this experience, such as: Teotiballoons, Volare, Teotihuacán Hot Air Balloons and MX Balloon Flights, among others.

This pandemic year, the archaeological zone has closed its doors to tourists twice; However, on February 24, the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) reopened them to the public, under all health protocols, in order to promote the economic recovery of the region without running the risk of being infected by COVID-19[feminine.
