The afternoon of this Tuesday March 9 2021 of the National Palace, the health authorities have reported the existence of 866 new deaths caused by COVID-19 disease in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 191,789 deaths since the start of the health emergency.

According to the data of the written technical report, in the last 24 hours, 7,407 new cases have been registered, with which there are a total of 2,137,884 cumulative confirmed cases since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, there is also 1,681,336 people who recovered and were granted medical leave after treating their symptoms. In addition to 605801 case in which both men and women have received the complete immunization schedule against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the country.

In addition, on the third day of the eighth epidemiological week, the existence of 2,322,909 estimated cases. On another side, 45,805 people (2%) experienced symptoms in the past 14 days, Therefore, they are considered active cases and may contribute to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus among the rest of the population.

According to Dr Ruy López Ridaura, director general of the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control Programs (Cenaprece), the graph is “at a point very similar to the minimum level of what was recorded in the first wave“. In fact, the downward trend indicates that the estimated number of people is down 14% from yesterday.

Regarding the saturation of hospitals, López Ridaura reported that 26% of general beds in the country are occupied and the number is a point below what was recorded the day before. In this sense, 31,850 beds without respiratory assistance, 8,355 are in service and 23,495 are available. In addition, no federal entity has more than 50% of the occupancy in its beds.

Meanwhile, seven states reported occupancy between 30% and 49%, while 25 reported less than 30% occupancy.

On the other hand, in beds equipped with ventilation support, that is, for the care of patients in intensive therapy, it has been reported that national occupancy is 30%, so it has not presented any change from yesterday. In fact, of the 11,294 ventilation beds in Mexico, 3,372 are occupied and 7,922 are available.

Too, only Mexico City reported an occupation ranging from 50 to 69 percent. Nine entities have an occupancy of between 30 and 49 percent, while 22 entities have an occupancy of less than 30% in beds equipped with a fan. Regarding capital (53%), the statistic remained around 50%, that is to say that some days it is above, but on others it may be less than the number.

Regarding vaccination, today 202,701 doses have been placed across the country. The figure did not break the record of more than 300,000 injections against the SARS-CoV-2 virus given in one day.

Thus, since December 24, 2020, the date on which the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was applied, recorded 3,100,868 cumulative doses. Thus, with the implementation of the national immunization plan, the graph has seen a steady increase.

Nowadays, 73% of those affected to the health sector received the full vaccination schedule. In contrast, 99% of teachers in the state of Campeche are in the same state, unlike 34 people who received a dose of the antigen.

As, 1,670,263 older people have received at least one dose of one of four vaccines approved and in use. However, due to their recent request, none of them received a full vaccination.
