Coronavirus in Mexico on March 11: how many new deaths have been recorded in 24 hours

The afternoon of this Thursday March 11, one year after the decree of the pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), health authorities have reported the existence of 654 new deaths from COVID-19 disease andn the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 193,142 deaths from the start of the health emergency.

However, there is also 1,691,093 people who have recovered and obtained medical leave after treating the symptoms. In addition to 607,589 cases in which both men and women received the full immunization schedule against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the country.

In addition, on the fifth day of the eighth epidemiological week, the existence of 2,345,863 estimated cases. On another side, 46,388 people (2%) experienced symptoms in the past 14 daysTherefore, they are considered active cases and may contribute to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus among the rest of the population.

On the occupation of the hospital, the doctor Ricardo Cortés Alcala, Director-General of Health Promotion, said that “Currently we have a national occupation of 27 percent, a percentage point lower than that recorded yesterday. We are already observing the occupancy rates of hospitals since the end of the first wave of the pandemic in our country. We are already reaching these same levels ”.

He also reported that 26% of the country’s general beds are occupied and the figure is one point below what was recorded on March 10. In this sense, of the 32,141 beds without assisted ventilation, 8,465 are used and 23,676 are available. In addition, no entity has an occupancy rate greater than 50%.

Meanwhile, seven states reported occupancy between 30 and 49 percent, while 25 reported less than 30% occupancy.

On another side, on beds equipped with a ventilation support, that is, for the care of patients in intensive therapy, it has been announced that national occupancy is 29%, that is to say without any difference compared to the day before. In fact, of the 11,371 ventilation beds in Mexico, 3,349 are occupied and 8,022 are available.

Only Mexico City has an occupancy greater than half of its capacity (53%), while seven states have between 30 and 49 percent. In contrast, 24 entities display figures below 30%.

Regarding vaccination, the doctor Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, said that on the day of Today, 208,330 doses have been placed across the country.

Thus, since December 24, 2020, the date on which the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was applied, a cumulative 3,779,969 applied doses were recorded. Thus, with the implementation of the national immunization plan, the graph has seen a steady increase.

Nowadays, 72% of those affected in the health sector have received the full immunization program. In contrast, 99% of teachers in the state of Campeche are in the same state, unlike 34 people who received a dose of the antigen.

As, 2,338,208 older people received at least one dose of one of four vaccines approved and used. However, due to their recent request, none of them received a full vaccination.

Of the total number of people who received a dose of the vaccine, only 11,439 had adverse effects after its application. Likewise, on 71 occasions the response has been serious.
