Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, positive case of coronavirus

The heir to the Swedish throne, Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel have tested positive for the coronavirus, They will therefore remain in quarantine with their two children, Estelle and Oscar, according to a statement released this Thursday by the Swedish royal palace.

Victoria, 43, underwent a coronavirus test yesterday after developing mild symptoms of the common cold. The wedding is in perfect condition, as it happened. The Swedish Royal Household has reported that the family doctor is working to trace the chain of contagion.

Due to their confinement, the two were unable to attend a tribute at Drottningholm Palace, the private residence of the royal family, a commemoration of the first coronavirus deceased in Sweden.

Victoria’s brother Prince Carlos Felipe and his wife Sofía, who contracted the disease last November, attended the ceremony instead. Those who were also present were King Carlos Gustavo XVI and Queen Silvia, already vaccinated against the coronavirus at the start of the year.

As for the rest of the epidemiological situation in the Scandinavian country, the health authorities have already confirmed around 707,200 cumulative cases and 13,111 deaths due to the disease.
