The United States hit another record this Saturday in its COVID-19 vaccination campaign: in the past 24 hours, it has applied 4.58 million doses of vaccine to its population nationwide, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

That number far exceeds that reported on Friday, when the White House announced the record for injections administered in one day, registering a total of 2.9 million requests.

CDC reports indicate that The United States has already exceeded 104 million doses of vaccines applied three months after the start of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, with around 36 million people already with the full regimen administered, while around 69 million were inoculated with the first dose.

US health authorities have clarified that of people over 65, 62.8 percent received the first dose and 34.4 percent the second.

US President Joe Biden said in his first address to the nation on Thursday that he hopes all adults will have access to the vaccination before May 1. The first dose of vaccine in the United States was given to a nurse in New York on Jan. 14, under President Donald Trump, when the 100 million doses reported by the CDC were counted.

Currently, The United States has licensed Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and President Biden announced that he would speed up the vaccination process with the expansion of places of inoculation, the acquisition of more doses and new tools to access information about them.

Biden also ordered states across the country on Thursday to ensure that all adults can make an appointment to get the vaccine when May arrives, with the goal that the United States can return to some normalcy, with small group meetings, for the July 4th vacation.

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, The country has recorded nearly 30 million coronavirus infections and has regretted more than 530,000 deaths.
