They reveal video of BMW falling from fifth floor in Medellín

On the morning of Monday March 15, a tragic accident occurred in the exclusive El Poblado district of Medellín, where an armored car with three passengers on board fell from level five of a parking lot and left a fatal victim. The events took place in the Finito urbanization, in the Castropol sector, and until then, rescue agencies, members of the official fire service and the national police were present.

The spectacular accident left one deceased, aged around 37, and two others, aged 20 and 34, seriously injured. Three guns and cash were found during an inspection of the fallen BMW vehicle., this is why the subjects injured in the accident will henceforth be placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s office for illegal carrying of weapons.

This aroused public curiosity as to how the car fell about 200 meters to the ground. Several national media obtained the video of the fall, in which it is seen that there is a man who was with the three who fell with the car.

First of all, the man who ran away is next to the driver’s door. The driver, who died from the seriousness of the injuries, walks to the other side of the vehicle towards the door. He shares a few words with the subject and continues to get in the car.

Without closing the door, and what has been touted as a driver error, the car takes off in reverse, knocking down the protective wall. From there, the vehicle fell to the ground as the man retreated from the wall which collapsed with him. This is where he watches the scene from the nearest closed wall and the video stops. Authorities say the man escaped and it is not known who he is or where he is.

“We are in the process of identifying a fourth person who, through the analysis of video cameras and interviews with people of the time, this fourth person does not help his companions and what he does is flee the scene“, said Brigadier General Pablo Ruiz, Commander of the Metropolitan Police.

What the authorities know

According to investigations carried out by the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, the subjects in the vehicle arrived in Medellín from Cali, Buenaventura and Chocó and always visited the city to hold meetings in an apartment in the Poblado sector. According to the results, it appears the subjects have ties to illegal groups, for now, if they are linked to a criminal group in the Pacific, such as Los Contadores.

Authorities also confirmed that in order to advance the investigations and find out what the men were working on, investigations were underway with the Police Intelligence Section (Sipol) and the Sijín de Cali.

“The injured and the person we identify have a criminal record, events which have occurred both as indicted and as plaintiffs for various crimes that correspond to the Pacific coast, particularly in the city of Cali”General Ruiz explained.

However, the authorities went to the place where these people were staying and found a briefcase with jewelry, according to reports, the place belongs to the aunt of one of the victims and who lives in Cali.
