The herd of goats had to be rescued by the Barichara firefighters.

Firefighters are trained to rescue people and animals in the event of a fire. Sometimes they have to help a cat to come down a tree, but the brigadiers of Barichara, in Santander, Colombia, received an unusual call: a group of goats were trapped on the roof of a house and the inhabitants could not bring them down to the mainland.

Rescuers had to move to the city of Guane which is considered to be one of the most picturesque towns in the country. The trip lasted about 20 minutes since it is 10 kilometers from his detachment.

The puppies were the first to be lowered through the ladder the firefighters had placed. Immediately after, with the lasso in hand, a brigadist tried to catch the bigger one, but his advance ended up scaring them and they finally decided to stand in line. Two of the goats did not dare to lower the two meters that separated them from the ground and had to be helped.

No it is quite clear how the herd managed to climb to the roof of the house. According to the viral images, the goats appeared to be enjoying their new territory. “Be careful, don’t jump,” a woman laughed, watching the whole scene as if it were a comedy.

The Barichara fire chief spoke to local media and was surprised by the unprecedented rescue. “Here, what we always save are snakes, armadillos, porcupines, but we never had to save goats on the roof“Said the fireman.

The video was posted on Twitter by Toto de Vega, Colombian film, theater and television actor. The artist called it “the rescue”, and the curious situation has already exceeded more than 34 thousand reproductions, dozens of comments and shares. The images were also published by the Colombian press.

According to official data from the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), an organization that studies and implements strategies to prevent health risks in animal species, 3 out of 100 goats are produced in Santander, especially in the region of Barichara, Cepitá, Jordán, Aratoca and Piedecuesta.

This is why it is common to see these animals on the streets of the city, but this is the first time that a herd has been seen perched on the roof of a house. The rescue will remain in the memory of the inhabitants as an anecdotal and amusing fact.
