A night with friends ended tragically in Santa Marta. Yinni Yohanna Jiménez, a 17-year-old minor, died after her best friend, another young woman identified as Yuranis Marcela Santander Ramos, shot him in the neck. The events, which have been investigated, were said to have been the result, according to Yuranis, of an accident.

The two friends were at Yinni’s for a slumber party, according to relatives of the victim. However, the friendly night’s calm was interrupted when Yuranis pulled out a blank gun he was carrying with him, which was believed to be from his boyfriend.

In the midst of handling the weapon, according to the version of the young woman, who was captured and is now on the run, the weapon was fired and hit Yinni directly in the carotid artery. After the first shot, explains the young woman, the gun was fired again and hit the victim’s body for the second time.

“She was chatting, leaning against the wall, then she pulled the gun out to show it to him, put it around her neck and shot herself in the carotid artery. Then he got another hitSaid Gipsy Morales, the mother of the minor who died moments after the fatal event.

Yuranis, 18, was captured by police but in the last few hours, as Noticias Caracol explained, she was released for lack of a criminal record. “The traumatic weapon is seized, it is presented to the citizen in front of the general prosecutor’s office, and in front of a judge in charge of the control of the guarantees, who determined to release her given the circumstances of time, manner and place“Colonel Óscar Solarte, commander of the Santa Marta police, told this media.

Despite the version of the young woman, who assured that everything had been an accident, the family of the minor suspect that the death of Yinni could have another reason. Yuranis, although she has been released, is still under investigation for the death of her best friend, during the court hearing, in fact, she was charged with the crime of wrongful death.

Gloria Morales, the victim’s aunt, expressed her dissatisfaction with the freedom of the Yuranis and for the newspaper El Tiempo, she said, “It is incredible to us that neither the police nor the prosecution took the trouble to further investigate this event and comply with the version given by the official, who for obvious reasons was not going to tell the whole story. truth.”

According to Morales, his niece’s death may have been intentional. She, in dialogue with this newspaper, assured that she knew that Yuranis was angry with Yinni. “We learned that Yuranis was upset by something that had happened a few days ago, and that’s why when he went to her house at night, she insisted so much that he accompany her to talk ( …) She was already dead because she was shot at full blast. It was not an accident, so we ask that what happened be clarified and that if there was a crime, it will not go unpunished like many others. “.

Yinni was in the eleventh grade at school studying nursing, “It was very happy, many dreams, many visions. She said she wanted to go very far. Her aspiration was to study medicine and she even studied nursing which was the closest thing she could do, ”said the miner’s aunt.
