Carranza, for his part, assured that He left his post after CAF’s board of directors did not approve the appointment of Bernardo Requena, whom he trusted, as vice president of national programs.

“This decision responds to my judgment, in part, to my refusal to give in to the interests of certain countries to interfere politically in the powers that the Constitutive Agreement grants to the Executive President to appoint his immediate collaborators “the former CEO said in a letter.
