Mexico surpasses 12 million COVID-19 vaccines: Marcelo Ebrard confirmed new shipment from United States

Marcelo Ebrard, head of the Ministry of External Relations (WED), confirmed the shipment of a million and a half Vaccines against covid-19 to Mexico from the United States. With this, the 12 million doses will be exceeded in Aztec territory.

Ebrard Casaubón published at 7:24 p.m. (central Mexican time) this Sunday, March 28 on his official Twitter account that the flight with the inoculant had already taken off On the way to Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

“Fifteen minutes ago, a flight with a million and a half doses of AstraZeneca took off from the United States for Mexico City airport. He will arrive at 10:20 pm today. With that, we will reach 12,323,595 vaccine doses received, four of which were sent or delivered this week “he explained on social networks.

This action will promote the continuation of the national COVID-19 vaccination day in the republic, since the epidemic continues to be active throughout the national territory. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health (SSa), until Sunday, the new strain of coronavirus has caused 201,623 deaths and 2,420,746 cases.

Regarding the active epidemic, the agency reported during the evening conference at the National Palace that this number is estimated at 34495, which equals 1% contagions. This means that these thousands of people have developed the symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 in the past 14 days and have the capacity to infect more people.

According to this agency, until March 28, the antigen was injected at 123,624 people, with which they accumulate 6,852,596 doses applied since December 24, 2020. In addition, the number of vaccines lost amounts to a total of 4266, which is equivalent to 0.06%.

859,242 first doses were applied to primary care staff for patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Of this total, 619,697 (72%) people benefited from the full program.

However, government data indicates that 5,145,235 elderly people were immunized against the disease, of which 187,862 people received the second dose. In Campeche, the biological product was injected into 22,934 health workers, of which 17,626 (77%) were vaccinated a second time.

In the Mexico, the local government led by Claudia Sheinbaum has already prepared a vaccination program so that all elderly people 16 municipal governments finish vaccinating against COVID-19 in two weeks.
