More than a million Britons have persistent symptoms of Covid-19

Long-term symptoms of covid-19 affect approximately 1.1 million people in the UK, and about half of them say the disease is harm your daily life, according to government statistics.

About 196,000 of those people said their ability to carry out regular activities was drastically reduced, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported on Thursday. Figures describe those still battling the coronavirus after four weeks.

The figures mark the first time the ONS has analyzed how the pandemic will affect people over time. The effects persistent of the affected disease more women than men already younger than older.

“People who test positive for covid-19 have about eight times more likely to suffer from prolonged symptoms than those seen in the general population, ”said Ben Humberstone, chief of health and life events analysis at ONS.

On the other hand, official statistics have come to some interesting conclusions:

• The greatest proportion of people affected between 25 and 34 years old.
• About 6% of the population she was not sure if she wanted to be vaccinated against the virus, against 9% in early December.
• About 1 in 5 blacks were reluctant to get vaccinated, compared to 44% previously.
• At least 1 in 8 people aged 16 to 29 were hesitant to get the vaccine. The same proportion was recorded for those in the most disadvantaged areas.
