Italy: merchants and hoteliers clash with police after news of coronavirus closures announced – economic, financial and commercial news

Rome was the epicenter of clashes between police and hoteliers and workers in other sectors considered non-essential – such as gyms or street vendors –, who were protesting in front of the Italian Parliament for the closure of their businesses due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In Miln, there were also moments of tension in the protest by traders, in which were also workers from the tourism sector. The protesters wanted to move in a procession from the central station to the prefecture, but stopped when they passed the central government headquarters and blocked traffic.
