This Thursday, April 8, the Ministry of Health (SSa) reported that the new coronavirus left a recording of 206,146 deaths, which represents 548 deaths in the last 24 hours. Regarding the accumulation of cases, estimate at 2,460,495.

From the National Palace, as part of the dynamic put in place by the health establishment, José Luis Alomía, Director of Epidemiology, was in charge of reading the COVID-19 technical report, which indicates, in addition to the accumulated toll of the disease, the active epidemic, the epidemiological incidence, the occupation of hospitals and the progress of the national day of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, currently in phase 2, which deals with vaccination in older people.

In reference to active epidemic, the official said that as part of the downward trend that has continued in the republic since January this year, the percentage of active cases continues in 1%, which equals 26,784 patients. This means that in the last 14 days this is the total number of infected COIVD-19. We must not forget that they are the ones who have the capacity to infect more people.

According to hospital profession, the figures continue to favor Mexicans, since the hospital occupation is 18%This is due to the reduced incidence of infection that was reflected in the beds used to care for patients with COVID-19.

More precisely, in general beds (without artificial respiratory assistance), there is an occupation of the 17%, which means that out of a total of 31,432 beds, 26,026 are available and 5,406 are occupied. By entity, Alomía indicated that 31 entities have an occupancy greater than 30%, with the exception of Puebla, which fell back to the 30 to 49 percent range.

Likewise, in the SARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) bed report, the bed report is included with fan (with artificial respiratory support), which comes from 22 percent. It means that out of a total of 11,219 beds, 8,805 are available and 2,414 are occupied. Regarding this position by entity, there are four which maintain an occupation of between 30 and 49%: CMexico City, Chihuahua, Querétaro and Tabasco. All other states are below 30 percent.

Likewise, the advancement of vaccination continues in Mexico. According to what was referred by the official, until 4:00 p.m. (Central Mexican Time), health authorities enforced this Thursday 334,359 injections. Regarding the total number of injections applied, this amounts to 10 642 873.

This, as for immunization returns, indicates that they have been finalized 1664658 complete frames vaccination. That is, of the 10.6 million requests made, 1.6 million Mexicans have been immunized, either with the second dose of the vaccines that need it, or with the application of drugs from ‘a single inoculation.

Finally, as for the ESAVI (events presumed to be associated with vaccination and immunization), the vaccine Pfizer-BioNTech continues to be at the top of the list, due to the 14,330 ESAVI registered until Thursday, 12 962 are from this pharmaceutical company (51 more than yesterday), while Astra Zeneca has 584, SinoVac with 546, Sputnik V has 193 and in the end, the CanSino, which is a single application, has 39. Likewise, the “Unknown” and “Vaccines Abroad” categories continue with three incidents each.
