A family decided to steal a man’s body and carry him home on a stretcher through the streets of the municipality of Fundación in Magdalena, Colombia. The situation arose after relatives rejected the diagnosis of doctors at the hospital: death from coronavirus.
According to RCN News, Ramón Eliecer Quintero, 59 years old, had suffered for several years from respiratory problems and, after consulting in several health centers in the municipality, ended up in the San Rafael hospital.
There, doctors indicated that Quintero’s death was caused by Covid-19. However, the family did not accept him and decided to take the body without authorization; in order to evade the protocols established in the country for the burial of people who have died of the disease, whose bodies must be wrapped.

“No one can die, because straight away they say it’s because of Covid. Please, you are already good with so much injustice. Do you think a relative of one is handed over rotten, wrapped in a sack and not given a Christian burial? Said Rosa Quintero, the daughter of the deceased.
Relatives moved the body of the deceased for seven blocks to the main street of Fundación. Later, according to the newspaper El Heraldo, the police convinced them to take him to the morgue.
