The justice of Galicia, at Spain, sentenced to 9 years in prison a Monica YQ P, a woman of Panamanian origin by sexual abuse, assault and mistreatment of women latin american immigrants that he would have hired as servants.

The woman was accused of sexual abuse and her partner, who claimed to be a doctor, was the one who performed the so-called pre-employment vaginal exams before starting work.

According to the complaints lodged in court, the couple gave women who arrived in Spain in difficult economic conditions or without a residence permit, the opportunity to start working directly. But before they asked a medical check-up, which turned into vaginal explorations and other degrading abuse.

In other cases, they even forced a woman to engage in coerced and threatened sex, and others to work in her underwear or directly naked.

Five victims were subjected to sexual relations in a “climate of fear and anguish” and in working conditions that violated their rights at work and their freedom. Several of the immigrant women were locked up throughout the working day and threatened with the installation of security cameras.

A climate of terror and anguish

According to the prosecution, the couple gained the confidence that the victims would go to the home of the “employer” and under deception or threats, “they committed acts of a sexual nature”.

It all happened between March and October 2019, in Vigo. In Galician justice, the prosecution asked for 37 years in prison, although the sentence will be much less, since the woman has pleaded guilty to the charges and will only be in detention for 9 years.

With this agreement, the convicted woman admitted five crimes of sexual abuse, one of sexual assault, one of coercion, another of human trafficking, another against workers’ rights and one of mistreatment.

She posted an ad on a web portal volunteering as a housekeeper. The doomed couple contacted her and told her that I would charge 900 euros per month as an internal employee and that she had to undergo a medical examination, which “was normal in Spain”.

They made him sign an authorization for “auscultation, complete physical examination, analysis of blood and urine and gynecological examination” and they made an examination, which one day was superficial, but a few days later, more complete, with a vaginal exam. They didn’t use it effectively, but they used the rest.

The method of contact was similar in all casualties and similar events. One of them, during the interview himself, was forced to sign a consent to perform a vaginal exam, claiming he was necessary to work in Spain, according to the prosecution, “abusing their situation of vulnerability and little knowledge.

Another victim was forced to sign an employment contract in which it was said that the job would have no pay but would be “in exchange for bringing her daughter from her native country and a place to sleep ”. She also had to commit to a weekly physical, vaginal and anal and vaginal exam.

One of the victims was forced to work completely naked for about two hours three times a day. They made him eat naked with them at the table and they demanded that he shower with the bathroom door open.
