The complaint that defeated a prison and a hockey referee in Mendoza

Germán Montes de Oca is a field hockey referee from Mendoza recognized for his international career and also works as a dentist in the prison service (SP) of the province.

For a year he suspended his work at the San Felipe complex because it is one of the groups at risk for the coronavirus, because he suffers from diabetes, according to sources from the capital prison.

Montes de Oca was born in Neuquén, but has lived in Mendoza since the age of 19. In 1992 he started his career as a male field hockey referee and in 2005 he became an international judge. That same year it started out as a prison and is currently reaching the hierarchy of Senior Assistant.

Along with his work at SP, his global prestige grew. He has led Pan Am Games, Pre-Olympic Games, Junior World Cup Singapore, Champions Trophy, ROC Games, World and the Olympic Games in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Montes de Oca has come to be regarded as one of the best referees in the world in the discipline, and the International Hockey Federation (FIH) gave it a score of 9.9, out of a maximum of 10.

In early April, he was called in to lead the men’s team matches against Germany and India by the FIH Pro League (former World Hockey League), which were played behind closed doors at the National High Performance Center ( Cenard), located in the city of Buenos Aires.
