The father said the family went to the supermarket for groceries and once in the mall they left the children in the car, in the cabin where he left his service gun, a .38 caliber revolver, since he is himself a police officer.

At the supermarket, he pointed out that a security guard told them that heard gunshots inside the car, so they immediately went there to check what had happened and they found the worst case scenario: her little girl seriously injured. They transferred her to the nearest health center, where unfortunately her death was confirmed.

In this context, prosecutor Leiva requested closed-circuit footage of the parking lot of the business premises and took a statement from the security guard that he heard the gunshots.
