The city of Chota, located 630 kilometers north of Lima, is the capital of the province of the same name and was founded in 1552 by the Spanish conquerors. Some of the tourist attractions of the place are the Cathedral, an early 20th century construction where the image of the Virgin of Chota is located, as well as the Plaza de Chota, the main popular point of concentration in the neighborhood.
