He pulled a McLaren out of the dealership and it caught fire at the gas station

A modern and expensive McLaren 765LT was all but reduced to ashes in the town of Pennsylvania, USA, trying to refuel at a gas station. What’s even worse, according to local media, the luxurious sports car was destroyed without even driving more than 200 kilometers, since his owner had just taken him out of the concession after paying 560 thousand dollars.

As reported by the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department, the accident happened last weekend and the expensive car quickly burned down. In fact, it took emergency personnel about two hours to put out the fire.

McLaren, website report says Jalopnik, It’s based on a carbon fiber chassis, so it’s no surprise that the remains are completely unrecognizable. The sports car is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that achieves 755 horsepower, which allows go from 0 to 100 km in less than 3 seconds.

As stated, the unfortunate owner had acquired the sports car with several extras which made it a more than exclusive model and therefore its great value. Just remember that this “copy” has a price starting at 360 thousand dollars and only 765 units have been built.

This is not the first time that a McLaren has caught fire. In fact, a while ago the company commissioned a review of around 2,800 of the brand’s sports cars after detecting a defect in a foam pad under the fuel tank that could get wet and corrode the tank. However, the 765LT is not on this list.

For the time being, the authorities are still investigating the causes fire to establish possible responsibilities in the accident which did not cause any injuries.
