Given this decision by Twitter, the former president decided this Saturday to upload a video in which he sent a message to the administrators of Twitter. Respectfully, hatred does not arise from the legitimate exercise of force and authority, hatred arises from the promotion of the class struggle, the murder of workers, the destruction of their property, of aggression. against the police. prevent their integrity from being defended ”, said the ex-president.

Likewise, he stressed that Colombia must respect its police and soldiers, as they are respected in other countries. “Our policemen and soldiers also need human rights protection, the mother, wife, son of the policeman and the murdered soldier feel the same pain as the mother, wife or son of the murdered civilian. “

The former senator asks Twitter directors why they are silencing the claim and support for legitimate force in the face of this citizen’s suffering. “The constitutional duty of the public force is the protection of persons and property within the framework of universal human rights, it is obligatory to share who is the author of the offense and to protect the victim, of the rights of man who also protect the defense of his own integrity “, Uribe indicated.

The politician said that since 1988 he has had the privilege of being protected and that members of the law enforcement agencies “are very dedicated human beings. The social network explained the sanction that the specific tweet violated policies regarding the glorification of violence. In their rules, they state that violating this policy amounts, for example, to glorifying, praising, tolerating or celebrating cases such as the following:

– Violent acts committed by civilians which resulted in death or serious bodily harm; for example, murders, mass shootings;

– Attacks by terrorist organizations or violent extremist groups;

– Violent events directed against protected groups; for example, the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide.

“To prevent third parties from being inspired to commit acts of violence, we have asked the account owner (Álvaro Uribe) to delete the tweet”said the social network.
