Anonymous just deleted Colombian Senate page and posting emails from members of Congress

This Tuesday, May 4, the group of hackers Anonymous, known around the world for engaging in cyber-activism and supporting the various mobilizations of citizens against governments around the world, laid eyes on Colombia and published a list with emails and passwords of members of the national army. Through the Anonymous Colombia Twitter account, they shared a list of 168 different accounts of members of the armed forces with their respective email addresses and passwords.

Well, a few hours after this first attack, Anonymous claimed responsibility for the downfall of the Senate of the Republic website and also posted the emails from members of Congress along with a message which is a quote from the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano:

“Civil servants don’t work. Politicians speak but do not say. Voters vote, but don’t choose. The media are misinforming themselves. Schools are learning to ignore. The judges condemn the victims. The army is at war with its compatriots. Police officers do not fight crimes because they are busy committing them. Bankruptcies are socialized, profits are privatized. Money is freer than people. People are at the service of things, ”he says in the post alongside the emails.

Likewise, the hacker group announced that it had also intervened on the page of the Presidency of the Republic and invited users with technical knowledge to join in the action.

Anonymous has assured through several publications that the military is creating a window of smoke. “To create panic by making fear that the guerrillas kill, while the same soldiers assassinate and massacre their people”, they maintained.

So far, neither the army, nor the Senate, nor the presidency have commented on these cyber attacks and it is not known if there is any infiltration of information due to the publication.

In addition, this group leaked a conversation in which the Colombian army general is overheard, Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro, May 2 in Cali, assuring that they had received the order from President Iván Duque to militarize the city and to take measures against the demonstrators.
